Mark Delaney, CEO

Mark's   Dream

As a youth, Mark Delaney was inspired to be a baker by his grandmother, Margaret Delaney. He loved being in the kitchen, making sweet treats for himself and his family. Although his first batch of peanut butter cookies turned out to be peanut butter puddles, he learned a valuable lesson about following instructions closely.

Growing up, Mark had a dream of owning his own bakery shop. Whether it was making delicious cakes or cookies, sweet pastries or butter horns, Mark wanted to be the one to put a smile on peoples' faces and something yummy in their tummy!

He began pondering on how to create the best cheesecake ever, without sweet-lovers paying a lot to get these sweets and finding somewhere convenient for customers to find such treats. He decided to make his own! Being the kind of person he is, Mark shared these decadent cheesecakes with his family, friends and co-workers.

While wetting his co-workers taste buds with a Caramel Cinnamon Apple cheesecake, one of his co-workers suggested that he go into business for himself, making his delicious creations. Thinking strongly about the idea of having his own business he also discovered that his wife was enthusiastic about the idea as well. So making the things that Mark loved, they created "Delaney's Cakes", their very own home-based business.

Mark continued to make wonderful cheesecakes for friends, family and co-workers. He created cheesecakes for social events, birthdays and special occasions, all the while, dreaming of having their own shop to make these heavenly cheesecakes.

As life would have it, Mark moved out on his own for a new beginning but with the same desire to make his sweet concoctions and get his cheesecakes out into the publics mouths! Part of his new beginning was deciding a new name for his business. He was always being asked: "Do you make regular cakes.. or pies .. or cookies" to which he always answered, "No, Strictly Cheesecake", therefore, the new name of his company is now ...
